Of course, skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing are the usual winter vacation activities. But also cross-country skiing is a sport that more and more people are enthusiastic about, and it is also extremely healthy. Those who like to glide through the white snow-covered landscape in classic or skating style can explore the idyllic region of the Hohe Tauern National Park in a sporty way and cross-country ski on a total of 45 km of perfectly prepared cross-country trails in the Wildkogel Arena. A highlight is the "Pinzgau cross-country ski run", on which you can explore the entire Salzach Valley in the direction of Krimml (with the world-famous Krimml Waterfalls) or in the direction of Mittersill and Zell am See. The return trip can be made either by ski bus or the Pinzgau local train. Our guests especially appreciate the fantastic nature between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Hohe Tauern National Park with a view of the imposing Großvenediger, the highest peak in Salzburg.

Another sporting and at the same time fun activity is ice skating. Every winter there is an artificial ice rink at the market place in Neukirchen. This skating rink, located in the middle of the town, with skate rental, is the meeting point for locals and guests in winter with warming punch and fragrant mulled wine.
